Representation of disability in the media

  • There are lots of close ups of people who walk past the disabled character this is to show their reactions to his scolded face
  • The disabled character is dressed informally with messy hair to suggest he is lazy
  • Cut aways are used to make the scene of the disabled character walking seem longer than normal
  • The disabled character is quick to reply in conversations and has violent tone which suggests he is frustrated

Different types of shots

  • Shot reverse shot: conversations
  • Match on action: different views of the same action
  • Eyeline match: audience see through characters eyes
  • Cross cutting: going in and out of different scenes
  • A cutaway: cutting from one scene to another irrelevant one to prolong time
  • Dissolve: transition between two shots which blends together
